Scientific work
Dr. Ristanis worked as a researcher at the Orthopedic Sports Medical Center of Ioannina from 2001 to 2011. He has numerous publications (32 in PubMed) in major international orthopedic journals and has participated in the writing of chapters in Greek and foreign orthopedic books (Reciate Ligue) and Basic Science ”, Saunders. Elsevier. 2008). His research work has been cited by foreign authors in at least 1400 published articles in the international literature (listed in Google Scholar in detail), which reveals the huge impact of his research in the international arena.
He has received several scholarships (IKY, PENED etc.) and has been awarded numerous times in Greece and abroad, with the title of “Best European Young Researcher (under 40 years old)” awarded to him in Innsbruck (Austria) in 2006 by the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy (ESSKA), the leading European Society for Sports Injuries and Knee Arthroscopy.
He holds the title of member of many international scientific societies and is an active member and reviewer of articles of the leading international orthopedic research organization, Orthopedic Research Society (ORS). He has made about 90 oral presentations in Greek and international Conferences, while he is a reviewer in major international journals, such as Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology & Arthroscopy, Journal of Orthopedic Research, Journal of Applied Biomechanics, American Journal of Sports Medicine, ISRN Rheumatology and International Journal of Orthopedics (member of the Editorial Board). At the same time, he was named Outstanding Reviewer for the year 2011 by Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology & Arthroscopy magazine.
